[Game Review] GT Pro Series (Wii)

boxart_wii_us_gt-pro-seriesSystem: Wii
Developer: MTO
Publisher: Ubisoft
Genre: Racing

Racing games are simple, fun, and give you immediate results. You don’t have to work through a number of complicated levels, with variables that you cannot control. You get a track, a vehicle, and opponents. Its about as straight forward as gaming gets. Nintendo’s Wii offers you the ability to control the action with an actual gaming wheel. So, automatically, you are given a unique gaming experience.

The only problem is that GT Pro Series otherwise plays like it could have been developed for Super Nintendo over a decade ago. The graphics are sub par, and it looks like a 32-bit system. The cars are chunky, bland, and non-descript. The race tracks are basic, and completely barren of any major graphic achievement. The graphics are the game’s major, and truly the only damning weakness. If you aren’t distracted by graphics that barely would’ve been revolutionary in 1993, then you won’t mind this game. We’re Doing Some Site Construction

Some of you may have noticed the new “Review Round-Up” page at the top. It’s not finished yet, as I’m sure you’ve likely noticed. However, it will be done soon but has, for now, slowed posting to a halt. When it’s done it will be a complete list of every review ever done by Everyview with links back and all that jazz. It will also take the place of the “Request Reviews” page, as readers are welcome to search through the categories on “Review Round-Up” and submit a request if they can’t find what they are looking for.

Anyway, hopefully this will be done by tomorrow so we can get back to bringing you more great reviews. Why don’t you go ahead and check out the page now and browse our small selection of Book Reviews or gawk at our massive and still growing list of Energy Drink Reviews. Until next time, keep reading Everyview!

Review: …Lost Energy Drink

lostenergy1Overview:

Lost Enterprises is actually a surf board company, which may surprise some since they’ve churned out several stellar drinks. But don’t be fooled my friends, Lost didn’t achieve its reputation of producing delicious energy drinks on its own. The folks over at Monster were actually the ones who concocted this killer series of drinks, which easily explains everything from the original flavor and sensational aroma to the powerful kick.

Straight from the can:

From the garages of San Clemente in Southern California, where you can surf, skate and snowboard in the same day, came …Lost Enterprises. Lost grew into a super mega multi-conglomerate corporation and in our pathological obsession of global domination, we decided to formulate a drink to hypnotize the minds of the masses… Actually, that’s not true. If you’re gonna surf, skate and snowboard all in the same day, you’ll need some energy to go out and party afterwards. Most energy drinks suck, so we had the crew at MONSTER make us one that actually works, tastes good and mixes even better. …Lost Energy Drink, a bad influence from …Lost Enterprises.

Review: The House of the Dead: Overkill (Wii)

Overview:

System: Wii Exclusive
Developer: Headstrong Games
Publisher: Sega
Genre: Arcade Shooter

thehouseofthedeadoverkill

Overkill is the newest entry in the famous House of the Dead light-gun arcade games and the second House of the Dead game to grace Nintendo’s little white box. The first was House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return, a retread of, you guessed it, the second and third games in the series on one disc. Overkill is an all new offering from a new developer with a new style and attitude. But how does it stack up against its legendary arcade predecessors?

Review: Sex Drive (2008)

Overview:

SexDriveA lot of people haven’t heard of Sex Drive for some reason, so I’m gonna go ahead and give a brief, informative introduction. Sex Drive is hilarious. That about sums it up, really. However, for the sake of taking up space and making my review look longer and smarter than it really is, I’m going to tell you a little more about it.

There are boobs, Amish boobs, sex jokes, sex, donuts, and a brief appearance by Fallout Boy. As you can tell from everything but the Fallout Boy appearance, which surprisingly doesn’t ruin the movie (I hate Fallout Boy), this move is awesome. Sure the whole road trip thing may be a little worn out, but it’s been a while since a road trip movie has been executed well and it’s honestly pretty refreshing to see one.

Review: Pirates: The Key of Dreams (WiiWare)

pirates-the-key-of-dreamsOverview:

Publisher: Oxygen Games
Players: 1-4
Genre: Action
Cost: 1000 Points

A 10 dollar game about pirates? Hell yeah, sign me up! Along with zombies, ninjas and Hulk Hogan, Pirates are one of the many things God put on Earth to make life for us mere laymen more worth living. Unfortunately this may not be the game you want it to be. When I first heard of it I didn’t think there was any way it could be anything other than awesome. Well here we are, ten bucks later, and I can readily admit that I was horribly wrong.

Review: Amp Energy Focus

Overview:

Earlier this week we reviewed Lightning, a drink with disappointing attributes all around yet provided a monstrous kick that was, admittedly, short lived and followed by a mild crash. Now we’ve got yet another new flavor from Amp, Focus. The drink’s flavor is Blast of Mixed Berry which sounds delicious. But Lightning’s lemonade flavoring also got us excited just to turn out tart, bitter, and artificial. Does Focus prove to be an Amp product finally worth buying or does it slip into mediocrity with most of its sister drinks?

Straight from the can:

Bring your mind to a whole new level to keep connected, focused, and alert. Sharpen your game – The power of Amp Energy with a Blast of Mixed Berry and a kick of L-Theanine.

Sounds promising, but what the hell is L-Theanine?

Review: Starbucks Cinnamon Dulce Energy+Coffee

starbucks-cinnamon-dulce1Overview:

A while back I reviewed that Vanilla blend of Starbucks’ Energy+Coffee DoubleShot line of drinks. The drink scored high with wonderful aroma and rich flavor, but got an unjustly low (I’ll explain that in the review) score in value, which ultimately lowered it’s score a little bit. I recently got my hands on the newest flavor of DoubleShot Energy+Coffee, Cinnamon Dulce, and it’s delicious.

Straight from the can:

Your extra shot, Latin style. Starbucks DoubleShot Energy+Coffee Cinnamon Dulce. A mighty brew inspired by traditional Latino beverages. A bit of coffee, vanilla, cinnamon and spice, supercharged with B vitamins, guaran and ginseng to keep you going. Are you ready for more?

Review: Rip It Citrus X

rip-it-citrus-x1Overview:

A short while ago I reviewed a product called Rip It, an impressive 99 cent energy supplement which excelled in all criteria and walked away scoring a respectable 8.25/10. Today I’m reviewing Rip It Citrus X, an orange flavored variation of the original. Does Citrus X impress as much as the original, or is it simply a waste of a buck?

Review: Flight of the Conchords Season Two Premier

flight of the conchordsOverview:

After a screamingly funny first season, HBO’s musical comedy “Flight of the Conchords” is back for a second go around. After falling in love with the show during its first season, my expectations were through the roof as season 2 began. Sadly, for their new batch of episodes, the boys came out a bit “flat” (Get it? It’s a music joke!)
