[The Everyview Update] 06/21/09

Posting was slow this week, we admit. We plan on making that up next week by offering you guys a some awesome reviews, but we are debating whether or not we should continue doing news articles or just focus on reviews.

Also, to all registered members who haven’t done so (most registered members), make sure you upload a personal picture which will be on display next to all of your comments. Do this in the admin area (where you’re taken to right after signing in or by clicking ‘Site Admin’ on the Log In area on the right sidebar) under your profile tab.

Here are some links from our best friends. Make sure you stop by their sites from time to time, they are all stellar sites.

A huge thanks to GoNintendo for featuring our Swords & Soldiers review and increasing traffic!

[The Everyview Update] 06/14/09

Here’s a handful of links to articles from our best friends. Go check them out, they are stellar sites.

As for our updates, make sure you upload a personalized photo in your user dashboard’s profile section if you are a registered member. Aside from that there’s nothing really new to announce other than we’re working on getting a new contest. Keep an eye out for details to emerge soon. It’s nothing huge, but it’s something none-the-less.

Peace out guys. And as always, keep reading Everyview!

An Ode to Mr. Corey

I know writing personal articles about people is usually prohibited on the site, but I thought it would be okay to make an exception for who is quite possibly one of the greatest men to walk this planet. And since I run this site, who’s going to tell me I can’t?

I just received word from regular reader Brandon Majors that Mr. George Corey is retiring from his position as the Electronics Teacher at Terre Haute North Vigo High School. This news is both happy and sad at the same time. Happy because he deserves his retirement more than any other old fart out there, yet sad because generations of knowledge hungry brats will never have the chance to know him.

The Everyview Update – 05/24/09

Here’s something new I’m going to try. I got some useful site feedback from a regular reader reporting that he opted out of reading on Sundays because he didn’t like the Weekly Recaps. His reasoning was that people will read what they want and that we could fit in more posts if we allowed articles to go up on Sunday as well. More posts means more entertainment. More entertainment means more traffic. We love traffic.

So to prove that we actually do care what our readers think about our site, allow me to introduce the Everyview Update. Taking the place of the Weekly Recap, the Everyview Update will do everything the Recap did and much more.

Awesome!

Oh, and many of you have probably noticed that this post is being published on Monday and not Sunday even though the date in the title points to a Sunday publication. This was meant to be published on Sunday, not Monday, but it turns out I have bronchitis and am very tired and feel like boogers and puke, so I slept instead. Future installments will come on Sundays.

Our Recap

From our Blog Roll

  • GrubGrade gives us a review of the tantalizing Arby’s Roast Turkey Ranch & Bacon Market Fresh Sandwich (what a mouthful!)
  • SuperPhillip shows us that Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat is still a great game, even without that Bongo Controller
  • The Impulsive Buy reviewed the Morningstar Farms Hickory BBQ Riblets, showing us how good some vegetarian food is, and why all vegetarians are always broke
  • The Tancave reads and reviews Star Trek Voyager: Full Circle, a novel that through the entire series onto his must-have list
  • We-Rate-Stuff takes a look at the short-lived but fondly remember Summer Heights High, obscure and underrated HBO TV series
  • World 1-1 is taking an indefinite break from posting. Indefinite doesn’t mean permenant, it just means until further notice. I’m sure he’ll be back and better than ever in no time.

Special thanks

To The Impulsive Buy for featuring our Amp Energy: 3 Wide review in their WEEK IN REVIEWS and helping boost our traffic!

Weekly Recap for May 11th – 16th

The Weekly Recap is published every Sunday, and it is the only post to be published on Sundays. It features a list of all, or most articles published throughout the week with links back so you can easily see anything you may have missed. Enjoy!

We’ve started doing news articles as opposed to our standard nothing-but-reviews thing we were sticking to for a while. We realized that was stupid when we couldn’t keep enough traffic on the site to satisfy my need for readers. So far it’s a winning strategy, so expect more posts per day from now on.

Anyway, those are all of the big articles for this week. And as always, keep reading Everyview!

Game News: Dead Rising 2 Means Dead Rising Reviews Soon!

In honor of Dead Rising 2 finally being revealed and looking so effing awesome I’ve decided to bring you guys three special reviews before it launches. The first and most obvious is a review for the original Xbox 360 hit, Dead Rising. After that I’ll be taking a look at Dead Rising: Chop ’til You Drop, the Wii exclusive remake of the original. Lastly I’ll bring all of you BlackBerry owners a review of Dead Rising Mobile on the BlackBerry Curve.

After all of those are finally published you’ll know Dead Rising 2 is closer than ever before, and that means you should squeal like you’ve got Swine Flu. Anyway, keep an eye out for some awesome Zombie Genocide action in the coming weeks right here on Everyview!

Coming Soon: An exclusive interview with TheSpeedGamers

So TheSpeedGamers, a group of elite gamers who broadcast video game marathons to raise money for several charities, were kind enough to accept my request for an exclusive interview to be published right here on Everyview. This will be a first in a series of Everyview Interviews. I can’t say for sure when this will go live, but it’ll probably be before their May 15th 72 hour Mother Marathon to benefit Susan G. Komen.

Keep an eye out for some more specific updates including a post asking what you want to see in the interview.

Wow, talk about an expansion! Everything you see in front of you is all-new and all-improved. Except for that damn banner, though it is better than the old one. We’re planning a contest to fix it so don’t worry Anyway, with such a drastic change you’re probably thinking it’s time for us to take a break, right? Wrong!

Now that we’ve got this awesome new layout and this awesome new domain name hosted by this awesome service it’s time for us to finally get back to work bringing you all the awesome reviews you know and love. Hopefully this week’s recap will hold you over, but we’ve got plenty on the plate for next week. Until next time, keep reading Everyview!
