[Energy Drink Review] Ace Lo-Cal

ace_lo cal

The thing about Ace Lo-Cal that initially caught my eye was the horrible can. Ridden with bullet holes, World War II plane decorations, playing cards, and a pinup model from somewhere in 1922 riding a bomb, this is one of the most awful cans I’ve ever seen.

But it’s also completely bad ass! Seriously, there’s a cowgirl riding a bomb.

Straight from the can:

It’s a dog fight out there! To win, you need to stay sharp.

Crack open an Ace Energy for an immediate physical and mental lift. Ace will get you flying high and keep you in control.

Throw down an ace!

Man, this is going to be terrible! Continue reading

Hello. It is I, someone new. Yes. Considerably.

Hello, Everyviewers, I’m known as Phil, and I am a new contributor here at this fine, glorious, excellent, remarkable, tremendous (fair amount of sucking up– move on) site. I have and still do run a video game blog of my own entitled SuperPhillip Central. I have done so for about a year and half for the sole reason of combining two loves of mine into one: gaming and writing. Made sense to me at least.

A little bit about me– I’m 23, and I live in the Midwest. I’m signed up to go back to college after a two year hiatus, and I’m hoping to major in theater. There’s enough drama in my life as is anyway. Why not have some for fun with acting?

My purpose here at Everyview will be to contribute game reviews and occasional editorials as I deem necessary… or when drunk. Whichever comes first, I imagine. No, I kid. I don’t drink. I’m supposedly in the running for Games Editor, but we’ll see how much work that entails first. Perhaps that drunk remark took me out of the running…

Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you around on Everyview!

– Phil

[Food Review] Bob Evans Sausage, Egg and Cheese Microwavable Homestyle Breakfast Burritos

bobevansmicrowaveburritoBreakfast Burritos have been my favorite morning meal for as long as I can remember. There is just something comforting about having all of the essential breakfast foods wrapped into a soft tortilla shell.

While I definitely prefer making my own, due to the creative and artistic freedom presented by the nature of the burrito, there are times when I just don’t feel like putting the effort into making one, nor do I possess the initiative required to drive to Sonic or Hardee’s. That’s why I recently picked up these microwavable Sausage, Egg and Cheese burritos from Bob Evans. Continue reading

[Game Review] The Godfather: Blackhand Edition (Wii)

the-godfather-blackhand-editionSystem: Wii
Developer: EA Redwood Shores Studio
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Genre: Adventure

The thought of The Godfather as a video game initially scared the bejeezus out of me. Too often games are based on movies, and they SUCK. I’ve played too many shitty Spider-Man games, along with The Da Vinci Code (which is the WORST game I’ve ever played) and I’ve always felt conned. They got me interested so easily, by basing a game on a character or storyline I could have expectations for. And they always let me down. Not so with The Godfather.

What they do with The Godfather is take the rough outline of the story you’re familiar with,  then change it up to better suit the gaming experience. You get to create your avatar, and develop it into someone the Corleone family can trust and rely on. And it’s quite fun to work your way up the ranks. You start off as some street punk eager to make a name for yourself, and then you end up doing jobs with Sonny, working with Michael, really cementing yourself within the Corleone family. 10 Albums Essential for Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse

Smart people are constantly and without rest preparing for the imminent Zombie Apocalypse. Countless battle and escape strategies are discussed and pondered over just as many scenarios, yet no one can ever seem to agree on the proper way to survive an attack from the undead.

Just as varied in opinions and as essential to survival, though much less discussed, is the music you would take with you to your safehold. In the heat of your grandmother trying to get her decomposing jaws around your juicy jugular you aren’t going to have the luxury of sorting through your CD’s for the music you want to take with you.

That’s why Troy from edjunkie.com and us here at Everyview highly suggest everyone with at least one functioning brain cell compose a list of 10 albums essential to survival and keep them somewhere immediately accessible. Check out our lists, put some thought into your own, and be sure to prepare yourself for an undead invasion. Continue reading

[The Everyview Update] 11/29/09

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and many of us are just now recovering from turkey overdose, but we have been hard at work here at Everyview. For a while we’ve been planning a series of Holiday Buyer’s Guides to help our readers make it through this holiday shopping rush. We’ve already published seven different guides, and we still aren’t done! Go ahead and browse through the ones we’ve already done, and make sure you keep checking back every day for the remaining entries into our series of 2009 Holiday Buyer’s Guides.

Aside from that, this week we are going to be publishing a Top 10 Albums list. It isn’t a definitive “best albums” list, but instead Troy from edjunkie.com and each member of the Everyview staff picked the albums they would take along to a safehold in the event of a Zombie apocalypse. Get psyched.
