Third Party Woes on Wii – Who’s to Blame?

Recently the president of EA said finding success on the Wii was “confounding”. I found this statement rather confounding myself due to various reasons. This seems to be a common thing with third parties on Wii. Many publishers are hesitant to put forth big budget content since it’s failed them in the past. That’s a self-fulfilling prophecy if I ever heard one.

Firstly, third parties have no one to blame but themselves. Answered that question quickly, didn’t I? They were the ones who created the current market on Wii by filling it with garbage. What games that aren’t garbage they produce get limited marketing and next to no commercials. Again, compare the marketing of the “biggest” Wii third party game, The Conduit, with the marketing of Rogue Warrior, a B-level action game for the HD consoles. Rogue Warrior has received much more of a push. What games deserve to sell on Wii? Little King’s Story? Muramasa? Dead Space: Extraction? Maybe. But which ones received proper advertising? Oh, yes. None of them. So none of them “deserved” to sell. Quality can only do you so much in the games business.

[Movie Review] Fantastic Mr. Fox (Theatrical)

fantastic_mr_fox reviewIt seems common these days for movies to be produced that are based on a book, a short story, or some article. I don’t know if you can attribute that to a dearth of creativity in Hollywood, that writers are only capable of adapting the work of others, or if filmmakers just really want to bring certain stories to the big screen.  However, I absolutely cannot claim Fantastic Mr. Fox to be one of these uncreative adaptations, because in all honesty, it’s one of the most unique films I have ever seen.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is based on the book by famed author Roald Dahl (Charlie and The Chocolate Factory). However, what is done here instead of making it into a typical animated movie, Director Wes Anderson implements stop-motion animation in a casual, eye-catching way that leaves us with a tremendously interesting film. The Top Five Movies of the Past Decade

Staggering as it is to think about we are in the final month of the first decade of the new millennium. Knowing that, I’ve taken it upon myself to recap some of my most favorite and most detested happenings of the last ten years.

In that spirit, here are my top five favorite movies released between 2000 and 2009. Continue reading

[Game Review] The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (DS)

System: Nintendo DS (Exclusive)
Developer: Nintendo
Publisher: Nintendo
Genre: Adventure

It’s always a phenomenal event when a new Zelda game hits store shelves. The legendary series has been going strong for over 20 years without a single bad entry (except Zelda II. And those awful CDi games don’t count either). Some of the games are better than others, sure, but every notch into the convoluted Zelda time line represents a timeless classic and a memorable adventure. Now that Spirit Tracks for the Nintendo DS, the latest entry into the renowned series, is finally here, it’s time once again to venture through the land of Hyrule on an epic quest to save Princess Zelda. [Energy Drink Review] Slap Juicy: Tropical Energy + Juice

slap juicy tropicalI’ve been digging through my fridge a lot lately in an attempt to satisfy my urge for energy without emptying my wallet. This morning I woke up to get started on my seven hours worth of homework which I had 6 hours to complete, blindly stuck my hand in my mini fridge, and pulled out a green can of Slap Juicy: Tropical.

I love saying Slap Juicy.

Slap Juicy, slap juicy, slap juicy. Haha. It sounds more like a sloppy sex position than an energy drink. Continue reading

[The Everyview Update] 12/6/09

I’m tired.

We got a new writer. Phil. He will be doing some video game articles and reviews whenever he isn’t busy running his own site, SuperPhillip Central. We’re hoping to have him join forces with us full time and become our Games Editor, so we’ll see how that turns out in the end.

Other than that, it’s December. Christmas is coming up, as are the other holidays (forgive me for not being culturally educated on Catholic and Hispanic traditions, amongst others), and that means one thing. PRESENTS! I’ll be asking everyone for cash this year so I can afford this HD camcorder I’ve had my eye on for a while. Video reviews soon? We’re probably way too lazy, but we do agree that it is a good idea.

I’m going to bed.
