[The Everyview Update] 01/25/10

Hey guys, hope all is going well. There really haven’t been any big changes or updates that we need to talk about this week. We are going to start adding a “Coming Soon” section to the Updates, starting with this issue. We won’t get to everything that we put on the list every week, but it will give you at least a decent idea of what to expect in the upcoming week.

Coming Soon:

Zac

  • Sugar Free Neuro Fuel
  • Vuka Awaken
  • Wheaties Fuel
  • An exclusive interview with John Wozniak, the frontman of Marcy Playground

Clay

  • Banquet Frozen Dinners

Andrew

  • A list of the five most underrated actors in Hollywood

Brandon

  • Fortress, the newest album from Protest the Hero
  • Mass Effect 1 and 2

I’d say that’s going to make for a pretty exciting week!

[Music Review] Protest the Hero “Kezia”

Every so often I stumble upon an album that I put in, listen to, and can never seem to put down. Protest the Hero’s second album Kezia is just such an album.

For those not in the know Protest the Hero is a mathcore band from Canada and maybe one of the best things to come from America’s hat. The group has been together since around 1999 and has a lineup of only three albums. Kezia, released in 2006, is an absolute masterpiece as far as the mathcore/hardcore scene should be concerned. Spanning  ten tracks, it is one of the few concept albums that I can really say is fantastic. Continue reading

[Movie Review] Moon

I have seen a few celebrities in person in my life. Hulk Hogan, Rupert from Survivor, Teck from The Real World Hawaii — they all have something in common. Reality stars, all. However, in 2008 I found myself in Los Angeles, walking down a sidewalk I encountered an actor I liked at the time who has since become one of my favorite actors working today.

The man I am speaking of is Sam Rockwell.

This is his most recent film. Continue reading

[Game Review] Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii)

System: Wii (Exclusive)
Developer: Retro Studios
Publisher: Nintendo
Genre: First Person Adventure

I’m going to go ahead and say it. Metroid Prime Trilogy is fantastic. Amazing. Outstanding. Three of the highest rated adventure games of the past decade totaling at least 80 hours of gameplay jam packed onto a single disc, stuffed inside of a gorgeous collector’s tin packaging, loaded up with Medals and unlockables, and put on store shelves for $50.

If you own a Wii, there is no reason you shouldn’t have this game in your collection. Period.

I really don’t think I need to say anything else, but for those of you who need a tad bit more convincing, feel free to read on. You’re just wasting time you could be spending driving to the nearest video game store, though. Continue reading

[Movie Review] The Book of Eli (2010)

The Book of Eli has a very straight forward plot. The movie takes place in a post-apocalyptic world after some sort of war, rapture, or the end of days. It is a dry rustic world which I perceived as a mix between the environments of two popular video games, Borderlands and Fallout 3.

Eli (Denzel Washington) obviously has a book of some sort and he has a mission to take it somewhere, and he has been walking for over 31 years. Naturally he won’t let anyone touch it and it has some sort of power to it. People want power, enter antagonist Carnegie (Gary Oldman).

The movie includes some pretty unexpected twists and I am a strong believer in respecting people’s surprises so I won’t reveal any spoilers.

Get Yourself a Chicken Samwich and Some WiFi… FOR FREE

And maybe a Dr. Pepper to drink.

To clarify, only the WiFi is free. You’ll still have to pay for your chicken samwich. Anyway, people across the U.S can now officially take their large number (insert favored combo meal number here) with a large side of Wi-fi when they visit the nearest McDonald’s! Some of us may or may not have been familiar with the fast food titan’s surly charge of around three dollars for a two hour pass to the store’s wireless internet connection. Well my brothers and sisters I am here today to tell you that it is no longer so!

We have come one step closer to reaching the promise land in free internet.  Just under 12,000 wireless capable restaurants, means I’ll be spending less time at those dim lit hipster nests that we know as coffee shops and more time at the grease stained, heart destroying golden arches! Though the stores that never had wi-fi to begin with will not be gaining acces, the multitude of branches with the newly liberated Wi-Fi is still more than enough.

[Food Review] Doritos Late Night: All Nighter Cheeseburger

The Doritos Late Night line of snacks has found massive success almost entirely by word of mouth. And how could it not? I mean, in a market saturated with purely artificially flavored chips that taste kind of like the name on the bag suggests, it’s nice to be able to snack on something that actually tastes like Tacos or Jalapeno Poppers. I still remember my first bag of Tacos at Midnight. It lasted about 3.2 minutes.

The first new flavor since the now legendary line of chips launched has finally arrived in the form of All Nighter Cheeseburger. Trust me, if you love cheeseburgers, you will love these chips. Continue reading

[Movie Review] Big Fan

Plot Outline:

Big Fan tells the story of Paul (Patton Oswalt), a 36-year-old parking garage attendant who lives with his mother and has zero prospects in both his professional and personal life. The only thing that gives his life meaning is his passionate love affair with the New York Football Giants.

Paul’s already unstable life spirals further out of control after a disastrous encounter with his favorite player, which results in him even putting his own well-being behind his intense fandom. Continue reading

[Food Review] Chocolate Cheerios

The Cheerios family of cereals just won’t quit growing. Different flavors and variations of Cheerios have been continuously introduced since way back in 1979 and has hit flavors ranging from the long time favorite Honey Nut Cheerios to the less popular flavors like Berry Burst. For whatever reason though, Cheerios never thought to release a chocolate flavor, which is easily the most obvious breakfast cereal flavor. Until now.

Likely inspired by the success of 2008’s Banana Nut Cheerios, brand new Chocolate Cheerios attempt to satisfy the sweet tooth of chocoholics everywhere while simultaneously helping them lower their cholesterol and get some extra whole grain into their diets. Chocolate Cheerios took about 30 years longer to come out than it should have, but it’s finally here and I’m finally going to eat it.
