10 Albums Essential for Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse

Smart people are constantly and without rest preparing for the imminent Zombie Apocalypse. Countless battle and escape strategies are discussed and pondered over just as many scenarios, yet no one can ever seem to agree on the proper way to survive an attack from the undead.

Just as varied in opinions and as essential to survival, though much less discussed, is the music you would take with you to your safehold. In the heat of your grandmother trying to get her decomposing jaws around your juicy jugular you aren’t going to have the luxury of sorting through your CD’s for the music you want to take with you.

That’s why Troy from edjunkie.com and us here at Everyview highly suggest everyone with at least one functioning brain cell compose a list of 10 albums essential to survival and keep them somewhere immediately accessible. Check out our lists, put some thought into your own, and be sure to prepare yourself for an undead invasion. Continue reading

[Comedy Review] Craig Shoemaker Live: That’s a True Story

shoemakerI was planning on writing a review on last night’s episode of Eastwick, but my husband and I were so exhausted that we couldn’t stay up. Why were we so exhausted you ask? Well from laughing so hard we almost peed ourselves that’s why (yes I am a lady and I can say that). And what made us laugh so hard you ask again? Craig Shoemaker Live: That’s a True Story! That’s what!

Craig Shoemaker has to be one of the funniest comedians I have seen in a long time. His jokes center around his life and truthful events that happen to him. He is very interactive with the audience which gives him bonus points in my book. Throughout the show he torments a soon to be bride about what her husband is really doing on his bachelor party! He also “stalks” a woman named Tina, as she goes to the bathroom (little does she know at the time that there are speakers in there). Continue reading

[New Writer] Erin Brooks

A few days ago I wrote my first review for Everyview as a guest. I enjoyed writing the in-depth review so much that Zac offered me a place here! I was honored! I have a little blog of my own where I get more personal about my life, but I couldn’t pass up this chance to be a part of the Everyview clan.

For those of you who don’t know me I am Erin Brooks, a 27 year old loyal house wife (by loyal I mean I watch Monday Night RAW for my husband when he is stuck at work and give him the lowdown), mother to 3 crazy cats, an artist, a baker and so much more. I have a love of entertainment, books and Sci-Fi.

Around here I am going to be informing you guys on TV shows, movies and books! I am always open to suggestions if you guys really want me to check something out!

Anyway that’s me!

Thanks you again Zac for this opportunity!

[TV Guest Review] Stargate Universe Premiere

Opening Statement:

I’ve been a Sci Fi fan as long as I can remember. It has been my escape from the world. When I was a teen I fell in love with a movie that I must have watched 30 times or more. This wonderful movie was Stargate! In 1997 Stargate SG-1 came to be, and it was a big hit. I didn’t really get into it ’til about a year ago (I know, shame on me). Since then I have seen every episode of SG-1, the SG-1 Movies and Stargate Atlantis multiple times and never seem to get tired of them. So when the news of SGU came around I got goose bumps and marked my calendar for the big event. Finally, last night, the season premiere aired! Continue reading

[Movie News] The Last Airbender Features All White Cast

In 2007, Nickelodeon announced they’d have M. Night Shyamalan write, direct and produce a trilogy based on the T.V. series “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” Unfortunately, due to copyright issues the movie is simply called “The Last Airbender.” The teaser trailer for the first movie came out with Transformers 2 (which according to critics was an abomination), so I’ve gone ahead and shoved it in here for you. Yes, I know. You’re welcome.

Apparently there’s been some kind of controversy about the whole cast being of the Caucasian persuasion, with some fans accusing the creators of being racist. I’m not going to say those people are just looking for something to whine about… but they are. Continue reading

[Tech News] The Auto-Tuner

bigasschainSince the dawn of time, man has had music. With this music came the frustrating and foreign idea of “pitch,” with asserts that the music you make should sound a certain way. This notion has stunted the common non-talented man’s creativity for too long. That is why we came up with the auto-tuner, a small computer chip that is installed into one’s throat. This little marvel of technology gives the singer/cyborg the illusion of “knowing what the hell they’re doing when it comes to singing.”

You’re probably asking yourself, “Why don’t they just leave singing to people who know what they’re doing?” Continue reading

[Game News] New Metroid Game Announced at E3 2009

metroidFor those of you don’t know (all of you), I am a HUGE fan of the Dead or Alive series. So when I heard the new Metroid game for the Wii was being developed by Team Ninja, the people responsible for DoA and Ninja Gaiden, I punch-danced all over my house for about a half hour. Team effing Ninja. Continue reading

[New Writer] Thomas Campbell

I have not yet properly introduced myself, so I am now going to do so.

I’m Thomas. I’m a DJ. I play video games. I write for Everyview. I am Honduran. I know a lot about food/cooking and music and stuff. So, uh… I guess I’ll be writing about plenty of that. I also have a fine knowledge of the Informationweb Supernetwork, and the MySpace Dot Coms.

If the moon were made of ribs, I would eat it.

[Tech Review] Cardboard Box

cardboard-boxIf you’re like me, you have things. They’re pretty great, but they take up space. Things like chairs, books, clothes hangers and pet birds. When things are just sitting around in the way, it gets pretty hard managing your living space. Well, luckily scientists just released a breakthrough in storage technology. It’s big, it’s brown, and it’s cube-shaped. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you a new era in “putting things in other things,” The Cardboard Box.

Now, I know what you’re saying to yourself. “Thomas, I don’t fully understand the message you’re trying to convey to me. That thing’s huge, how is it going to make MORE space?”  Well, reader, I’ve got a little secret for you:

The box is hollow. Continue reading

[Music Review] “Universal Mind Control” by Common

common-universal-mind-controlOverview:

For those of you that aren’t “down” with the “hippity-hop” and the “MySpace Dot Coms” the kids are all raving about, Common is a pretty established MC from Chicago, well-known for his politically-conscious raps and jazz-inspired beats. He’s iconic in hip-hop for his smooth delivery of gritty lyrics and is also established in the art of freestyle rapping. He’s one of those down-to-Earth emcees of the same run as Talib Kweli, Mos Def and early Kanye West, and has brought us strong songs with a street flair in the past like “The Corner” and “Testify.” Continue reading
