[Tech Review] Razer Naga MMOG Laser Gaming Mouse

Review:

The Razer Naga is marketed as the “ultimate MMOG Laser Gaming Mouse.” It is designed to shift the player from the keyboard to the mouse. How does it plan to do this? By having a 12-button grid on the side of the mouse in addition to the other 5 more traditional buttons.

When I first got my mouse, I admit, I was a bit intimidated. I’m used to having a mouse with 5 buttons, as opposed to this one with a dwarfing 17. You have your every day three buttons (left, right and middle mouse) to start with. Then you get a couple more that are typical with gaming mice, such as the forward and back buttons. Then you get an entire 12-button grid designed to replace either the number pad or the number row. On the bottom of the mouse, there is a switch to toggle between the two. In addition to this, you can also reprogram each key to be pointed to whichever key/key combination you want through the Razer Naga Configurator. Continue reading

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve written a review here. I’ve been meaning to post this for a few weeks now, just been busy and stressed. But now I’m coming back, and I’m gonna kick things off with the Gunnar Optiks glasses (Attaché Phenom style).  These yellow-tinted glasses are specifically designed for sitting in front of a computer screen. They claim to reduce eye strain and fatigue. They’re also supposed to give you sharper vision.  Do these glasses do anything they claim to? Read on to find out.

Review: J&D’s Bacon Salt (Original Flavor)

baconsaltOverview:

Everything should taste like bacon. That’s why one of the world’s most ingenious ideas came to fruition in 2007 and is now one of the most sought after spices in America, likely due to our love of eating. That idea, of course, was Bacon Salt. Justin and Dave, both bacon fanatics, concocted a spice so amazing that it has spread across the internet and America like wildfire. They pitched the idea to a few different people while on a business trip and, needless to say, they loved it. Is Bacon Salt really as good as everyone claims it to be? Well, read on to find out.

SnaggStuff Mystery Box Opening

Okay, I finally got my SnaggStuff mystery box today. Posted a while back that I was going to show you the openings, so here it is. I actually ordered two boxes and they shipped them in a single package. Each box was $15, and supposed to have a retail value of $50. This means the actual price when new and from like an actual store. Not some super discount price online.

SnaggStuff, New Deal-a-Day Site

Most of you are probably familiar with Woot.com and their “one deal a day” marketing strategy. They also have the famous Bag of Crap, a bunch of random items thrown into a box and shipped to the person for $3.00, plus $5.00 shipping.

snaggstuffmysteryboxWell, SnaggStuff has implemented pretty much the exact same thing into their website. They have one deal every day, with the occasional Mystery Box. The idea behind the Mystery Box is they toss around 5 items into a box, you pay a bit of money, and you’re supposed to get more than you paid for. They even tell you how much the box of stuff should retail for. The latest one retails for $50 and they sell it for $15. Well, I bought two of them, and will be posting up everything I get once the boxes come in. Along with this will be a mini-review. If I can get it all working and set up properly, I’ll also post a video of the unboxing. Let’s hope I get some awesome stuff!

Superbowl Commercials

Wondering what this year’s Superbowl commercials are going to be like? Well, you can get a preview of a decent chunk of them over at adweek.com. After looking through them myself, I can only imagine what new commercials haven’t been released publicly yet.  I realize this is only a few days early, but it’s still kind of cool. You could make a bet with someone on what some of the commercials will be and score a few bucks.

Review: Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard

keyboard logitech G15

Overview

The Logitech G15 was originally made in 2005. It featured 12 more “G Keys,” which are the programmable hotkeys. It also had a light blue color for the backlit keys and LCD. The revised 2007 version was shipped with only 6 hotkeys, a more compact design, orange lights, and costs about $75 or so. I’ll be reviewing the 2007 version, which is in the picture. Review: Soul Calibur 4 (Xbox 360)

Overview

sc4

System: Xbox 360 (also on: PS3)
Developer: Project Soul
Publisher: Namco-Bandai
Genre: Fighting

Soul Calibur 4, released July 29, 2008 by Namco is the fourth installment of the Soul Calibur series, and the fifth installment of the Soul series. There was another Soul Calibur game/spin-off, Soul Calibur Legends, released for the Wii in 2007, though it was an action-adventure rather than a fighting game, and thus is not considered to be part of the series.

Soul Calibur 4 takes after its predecessors in many ways, and if you’re familiar with gameplay in the previous games, this one won’t feel much different.

Money Saver: Kingston 8GB MicroSDHC with Adapter

This is just a quick note for everyone, and you can expect more of these from me in the future. I just came across an 8 GB MicroSDHC card for $15.99 with free shipping from Newegg. This is a great deal, as you can find the exact same thing from Amazon for $22 and change, and they don’t ship for free. So if you’re looking for a good card for your phone, camera, MP3 player, or whatever you have that can use a MicroSDHC or an SD (since you can use it with the adapter as a normal SD card), check it out here.

Review: Audition (PC)

audition

Overview

Audition is a dancing/rhythm online game made by Nexon, producers of one of the more famous MMOs – Maple Story. It has several different game modes, most of which are pretty similar, presenting you with a set of keys which you have to press in order very quickly, then press the space bar on the fourth beat of the measure, which is indicated by a little shaded area. There is one other mode that is very different, called Beat Up. It can be played in 4 or 6-key mode (some people say there is 8-key, but I haven’t seen it yet), and it’s a lot like Dance Dance Revolution.
