[Music Review] Marcy Playground Live in Cincinnati, Ohio

Overview:

woz3I’m not usually one for live shows. In fact, the last real concert I attended was when I went to see Bob Dylan about a year ago. There’s just something about the huge groups of sweaty people huddled together and breathing all over each other that just doesn’t appeal to me.

But when I found out Marcy Playground was actually stopping by a location semi-close to me (3 hours away), I jumped at the chance to finally see them live. They have been my favorite band since I was 10 years old, and after almost a decade of almost constant listening, I was more than ready to see them play. Continue reading

[Game News] Club Nintendo Elite Prizes Revealed

mario hat club nintendo rewardThis morning I woke up to an email from Nintendo regarding information concerning Club Nintendo Members who reached either Gold or Platinum status. I had reached Platinum status shortly after the service launched by registering my entire catalog of first-party Nintendo games and spent my coins only on a set of Mario-themed Hanafuda cards, which I still have no idea how to use.

I was very excited to see what Nintendo would be offering their most loyal customers as rewards for purchasing hundreds, if not thousands of dollars worth of first-party games. I don’t know for sure what I was expecting, but I was anticipating something fairly awesome to show off for being such a hardcore geek.

Then I was disappointed. Continue reading

[The Everyview Update] 07/12/09

Hey guys, how has everyone been? I left the Everyview offices for a couple of days this weekend and left Clay and Andrew in charge of things while I was gone, hopefully they treated you well! I took a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio to catch Marcy Playground play a show and to take a trip to Kings Island, both of which will be reviewed very soon along with Five Guys Burgers and Fries and the new Monster Import.

You may also have noticed that we never posted any contest or anything of the sort even though I promised one last week. Maybe this week? Definitely. Like I said, it’s nothing big or exciting, but it’s easy to enter and whoever joins gets a free candy bar. What kind of candy bar? Likely not one you can easily find anywhere but from me, so continue to wait as excitedly as you currently are.

That’s it for now guys, we’ve got a good amount of great reviews planned for this week, so stay tuned in! And until next time, keep reading Everyview!

[Energy Drink News] New Flavor of Monster Features New Resealable Can

monsterimportMonster has announced that they will be releasing a new Monster drink called “Monster Import.” Import is made with the formula that was developed overseas and is packaged in a unique and innovative resealable can that appears to be superior to the CAP CAN technology used with the Mega Monster.

The can’s cap is a plastic tab that twists to be opened, and twists back to be resealed for freshness. I haven’t seen these anywhere around me yet, but I’m sure they’ll explode onto the energy scene soon enough. As soon as I get my hands on a can I’ll get you guys a review.

[Music Review] Marcy Playground “Leaving Wonderland… In A Fit of Rage”

leaving_wonderlandOverview:

“Leaving Wonderland… In a Fit of Rage” began life as the second solo project from Marcy Playground’s talented frontman John Wozniak, but was eventually became Marcy’s fourth studio album.

The album deals with topics that almost everyone can relate to, becoming a fantastic soundtrack for life. The amazingly personal and soulful lyrics are accompanied by fantastically written music  that shows just how talented Marcy Playground is.

It’s an excellent album, I’ll say that right now. But was it worth the five year wait? Continue reading

[Music Review] Marcy Playground “MP3”

marcyplayground mp3Overview:

Five years would come and go before Marcy Playground would release a follow-up effort to their 1999 album, “Shapeshifter.”  Marcy Playground’s 3rd studio album, titled “MP3,” was highly anticipated by fans, despite the fact that the band would not deliver a tour to support or hype the album’s release. Couple that with the fact that there was virtually no radio air time for any of the four released singles and it’s easy to see why this album is almost virtually unknown to anyone who isn’t a die-hard Marcy fan. [The Everyview Update] 07/05/09

Hey guys, hope everyone had a happy holiday! Not really any site updates to talk about this week, but I will tell you that we’re getting ready to have a small contest. It’ll be an easy contest, and a couple of people are guaranteed to win a delicious candy bar, but that’s all I’m saying for now. It’s nothing big, but it’s a contest regardless.

But other than that there’s really nothing else to talk about. Have a great night and, as always, keep reading Everyview!

[Food Review] McDonald’s Angus Deluxe Burger

McdonaldsangusboxOverview:

I don’t eat McDonald’s too often. You see, I used to work for the fast food giant. It’s not that anything particularly gross ever went on behind the scenes, but after eating nothing but McDonald’s for lunch over a span of 3 months, it just loses any appeal it had before.

But now that they’ve finally decided to add a new high quality line of  burgers to their stale menu, I can’t help but be curious. And as our friends at GrubGrade have pointed out, the last time McDonald’s released a new burger was in 2001 with the Big N’ Nasty. I mean Tasty. Whatever, they suck. Continue reading
