[The Everyview Update] 11/08/09

Hey guys, I hope everyone is participating fully in No-Shave November. I enthusiastically skipped out on my monthly shave just to celebrate, and it feels good. My neck/double chin area now has about as much hair as a 12 year-old  kid’s genitalia, and the ladies are loving it!

Aside from that, there weren’t any real changes or updates this week. However today is the last day we can accept entries into our Starbucks Giveaway, so make sure you head on over to the contest page and get your booty signed up!

[Savings] Save $.03 Per Gallon at Speedway Gastations

speedway savings

All November long drivers who purchase gas at a Speedway Gas Station and use their Speedy Rewards Card with be rewarded with 3¢ off of every gallon. That may not seem like much, but it’s free savings. At Kroger Gas Stations you can save up to 10¢ per gallon, but that’s only if you purchase at least $100 in groceries first. And with gas prices going back up, you can use all the help you can get.

[Gum Review] Trident Layers

trident_layers_gumTrident Layers come in two different flavors, Green Apple + Golden Pineapple and Wild Strawberry + Tangy Citrus. However, I recently stumbled across a few pieces of each flavor of Trident Layers and decided to give them a chance.

Big mistake. Continue reading

Super Mario Zombie

This was my costume last night. I was really proud of how it turned out, so I figured I’d share some pictures with you guys. The whole thing cost about $20 to put together, and most of that was on make up. I borrowed the bib overalls from a friend, bought the turtleneck for $8 from Walmart, and the cap is the Club Nintendo Elite prize. I did all of the makeup and such myself, and my girlfriend helped me make the gash out of clay.

There are more pictures after the jump.

[Game Review] Brutal Legend (Xbox 360)

System: Xbox 360 (Also on PS3)
Developer: Double Fine
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Genre: Action/Adventure/RTS/Metal

Brutal Legend is the most recent project from comical genius Tim Schafer, the driving force behind critically acclaimed games like Psychonauts and Grim Fandango. Never heard of those games? I wish I couldn’t say this, but I’m not surprised.

For some reason Schafer’s games tend to go unnoticed by the general gaming public despite rave reviews, likely due to a severe lack of marketing push from Publishers. Chances are, though, that you’ve at least heard of Brutal Legend. This game has gotten plenty of attention from general gaming press and public as well as music-centered publications thanks to a stellar heavy metal theme and all-star voice cast. Continue reading
