Even the biggest of movie buffs hate the Oscars due to the fact they are tortuously dull, so who in the bloody fuck thinks it’s a good idea to not only increase the Best Picture Nominees, but to double them and make the awful program even longer? I’m sure a lot of this has to do with the Best Picture snubbing of “The Dark Night” last year, but seriously, even if this does increase the chances for blockbuster movies, like “Star Trek” or Andrew Majors’ favorite film “Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen” to get nominated, it doesn’t actually much improve their chances of winning.
I haven’t heard whether or not any other major catagories will see such expansion, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed they will. Kate Hudson, the world’s most brilliant actress, has been aching for a second nomination for years, and if Best Actress is expanded, maybe her brilliant performance in “Bride Wars” will get her the recognition she deserves!
It’s all about Hollywood helping themselves. They know movies generally do better at the box-office when they are “Best Picture” nominated.
I never watch the oscars. Usually just read a recap the day after.
Gold dildos.
